Am just home from Colm's performance in The National Concert Hall, Dublin. It
surpassed expectations.
Renditions from favourite musicals to songs by Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, U2, The Beatles, John Lennon and lots lots more, including his own music make this a fabulous performance. He is very much at home with his audience, and it's great to see him here in Ireland. (missed him 25 odd years ago in Toronto because he was back in Ireland for a week's holiday, have been catching up with him ever since!)

Saw the show in Toronto on December 19. Have seen Phantom 6 times and you were by far my favorite. I always related you to the Phantom as a larger than life character... but last nights performance showed you in another brilliant light. Long story short, our kids gave my wife and I the tickets as an early Christmas gift ant it was a night to remember
Thank you .. Mr Wilkinson!!!

Dear Mr. Colm Wilkinson
When I was 10 my mother took me to Pantages theatre in Toronto to hear you. I fell in love with the depth and soul of your voice. Tonight, this many years later, I heard you again, but this time I took my mother. The song of your mother touched me as I was raised by my grandmother and mother whose voice I carry with me. My family is from Cork Ireland.. Your next stop. Maybe one day I will get to Ireland. In the mean time may you receive kindness, jolly greetings and joy wherever you go.

Colm,

I regret that I couldn't make it to your performance in Buffalo this season; alas, now that I am retired as a music teacher in Niagara Falls, I am performing on trumpet (my instrument of study at the Eastman School of Music, it seems like a hundred years ago) with a band that works regularly in the Buffalo area, and I had a gig commitment.

I wanted to share this with you:

You know I made many trips with bus groups, many of them students, to enjoy your performances in Phantom and Les Miserables in Toronto. After your recent Buffalo performance, I received posts from around 20 of my former students who went to your concert and were again amazed by your performance! They mentioned seeing you on my trips and how gracious you were when you met them at the stage door.

You had SUCH an impact on these students that made them a future audience for musical theatre for themselves and their children!

Thank you for the impact that you made on so many of them. Have a wonderful Christmas season with good health and happiness!

Regards,
Paul Wos

I wish I could have the opportunity to hear you live, Mr. Wilkinson. You are an inspiration. This may be short, but it's really hard to address a message to someone who I look up to and respect so much. I hope you are doing well, 24601.

Mr. Wilkinson,

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You, above all other voices out there, represent possibilities. At 39 years old, I've spent my entire life with you, following your career on Broadway. My father (deceased) was an old Irish/German tough guy in NYC, and he taught me never to 'feel', but for some reason whenever we saw you in the theatre I could see he had his moments. Likewise, I am the same. Likewise, my children have grown their lives to know your voice. I've explained your voice to others as what I hope Angels to sound like on my deathbed. I've bet myself that if I were ever to have infinite finances, you were to be my wedding singer. In short, your voice is that of the voice that has changed vocals forever. Congrats to you and a magnificent career. You are, simply put, the benchmark all other vocalists are compared against.

If I were to have 1 wish, I would hope you would authorize your earliest work for reproduction. What I wouldn't pay to hear you sing the role of Judas in 'Jesus Christ Superstar'!, Evita? You are the reason it exists to this day.

Thank you for all you've accomplished in your life. Thank you for helping me dream big, and dream proper.

Your Fan,
-Rob

To Whom It May Concern:

If this is Mr. Wilkinson reading, hello! If this is not, I humbly ask if you could please pass this along...

Dear Mr Wilkinson:

Iíve tried to write you this letter many times before, but Iíve never had the courage to hit send. I donít even know if this letter will ever reach you but as a mother I wish to send it in the hope that you might read it. Iím sure you received plenty of letters before, but this is more than a letter. This is a mother writing you to say thank you for the impact youíve had in our lives.

My story is this; after years of trying to have a baby, and struggling, my husband and I learned that we were giving our first born not only a sibling, but a sister AND another brother. Our pregnancy was hard but well worth the troubles.

Around 6 months in we found out that there was something wrong with our son.. our worst nightmare was perpetuated when we found out his condition was potentially deadly. We spent the next months crying, worrying, and hoping for the best. I went into labor almost 2 months early, my daughter Yasemin was born at 3 pounds 7 oz a tiny bundle of joy. She is a champion and, despite the odds, came home a mere three days after delivery.

Our son Aydin was born at 6 pounds and was taken to the NICU right away. I didnít even get to hold him until the day after his birth. We spent 30 days struggling to survive in the NICU. We didnít know what was wrong, he had wires and tubes attached to him and it was the most heartbreaking moments of our lives. All I could do was hold him. As a mother, iíve always known what to do. In this situation, helpless, all I could do was sing him Bring Him Home over and over again.

Dear sir, i wish I had a voice like yours, but my voice, in your spirit, calmed Aydin down. As I sung, I would dream of the day that I could finally bring my strong, helpless little boy home. Every time they had to stick a needle in him, every time the wires had to change I would whisper your words... Bring Him Home, I sung that song until I had no more tears to shedÖ until I had nothing but courage to provide him.

My husband and I just knew that his middle name must be Colm.

Thirty days later we BROUGHT HIM HOME. Now he 16 months old and he is as happy and healthy as any baby is, and nicely pestering his sister and older brother. He is truly the ďgentle soulĒ of our children. We consider it Karma that he seems to have your grace, your class, and for that, we will always carry you in our hearts.

To this day, when he is crying I sing him Bring Him Home and he calms down. I just wanted to take the time to thank you for singing with your heart and please know that youíve touched our lives. Thank you for helping us in troubled times; even though you didnít know it.

With Love,

Evrim Cakir and Aydin Colm Cakir
