Far too many times, people wait until a person has passed away to talk about how wonderful they were.
I know this mostly because I work in palliative care, I see too many regrets and what ifs. Not enough life having been truly lived.

I've taken it upon myself these past years, to tell people how I feel when I can.
If not why not.

I'd just like to pass on to Colm, how amazing his voice is.
I was lucky enough to see him live in Dublin in Les Miserables many years ago.

It was my first ever musical and I hadn't planned on going, I was merely filling a gap for a pal.
Wow.
I was blown away.
He quite simply, lifted me to a place I'd never been before musically.
A unique experience.

Thank you Mr Wilkinson.
May you have good health and happiness because really, there's very little else any of us needs in life.

Fond regards,
Geraldine de Búrca

No idea if Colm receives fan mail or even cares! I saw him as The Phantom in the original Toronto production with Rebecca Caine decades ago when I was a kid. I just wanted to say to him a humble Thank You for being a crucial and life changing moment in my childhood. Still my favorite musical and also the best Jean Valjean that will ever be portrayed on stage anywhere. Your talent is a force and your generosity a gift. Thank You.

Dear Colm,

My husband Calum emailed you last year asking you to wish me a happy birthday.

You so kindly replied and I was beyond made up!

I have adored you ever since my late grandfather (also a huge fan) played me ‘bring him home’ when I was 5 years old.

You are so incredibly talented and I am so grateful you took time out of your busy schedule to message.

Have a wonderful 2018 and thank you again!

I am a musical theater performer who was inspired by Colm and continues to be, after I saw his masterful performance in Toronto as The Phantom when I was a kid. A treasured memory from a musical treasure such as Colm. I have listened to all of Colm's albums through the years and I just want to say to him:
THANK YOU!

Dear Mr Wilkinson,

I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how your voice has inspired and moved me for over 30 years. I have two young children aged nine and seven years old and they have fallen in love with the soundtrack of Les Miserables.

Your voice has gotten me through many hard times and I can’t think of any other voice in the world that can make me feel this way.

I hope that you will come to Montreal to perform so that I can see you live again. I saw you in the Phantom of The Opera in Toronto 30 years ago.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hello,

I’m a massive fan of Mr Wilkinson! After seeing Les MiserableS in Sydney in 1989 with the great Philip Quast, my parents bought me “The Original London Recording” CD. I have listened to it for the last 25+ years – it is a prized possession of mine. Through it, I developed a huge appreciation for Colm Wilkinson. Seeing him live sits at the top of my bucket list right next to visiting Machu Pichu.

I just want to know if he is ever planning a trip to Australia? We have a pretty amazing Opera House perfect for such a show of his…… just saying!

Cheers,
Elke Mazlin

PS. Thank for all the times your voice made me cry or gave me goose bumps! (that is an Australian term for shivers)
